“I realised it’s never too late to change how you think, live, and experience life.”
After a difficult period in recent years, I felt overwhelmed and disconnected from the people and life I once enjoyed. Through support, guidance, and a different way of looking at life, I now feel calmer, more optimistic, and far more at peace again.

In my late 70s, I found myself going through a very difficult period in life. From the outside, I had lived a good life. I had built a successful business over many years, raised a family, worked hard, and always tried to do the right thing. But internally, I was struggling far more than I wanted to admit.

I was feeling overwhelmed, tired, occasionally anxious, and increasingly lost in my own thoughts. Family relationships had become strained, particularly with my children, and I found myself constantly questioning whether I had done something wrong or whether I could have handled things differently. I was also facing some health challenges, which added to the pressure and uncertainty I was already feeling.

When I first started working with Greg, I was really looking for support and guidance. What I did not expect was how much our conversations would change the way I viewed myself, my family, and the rest of my life going forward. It’s been almost 12 months now since I stated working with Greg and I must say it could not have come at a more appropriate time.

One of the biggest things I realised was how many mental prisons I had created for myself over the years. I had convinced myself that certain conversations could not happen, certain doors had closed, and certain situations could not improve. Through working things through properly and being challenged in a calm and logical way, I slowly started to see things from a completely different perspective.

For much of my life, I had been used to being the person in control. Running a business, supporting others, solving problems, and carrying responsibility. Reaching this stage of life and feeling less certain about things was difficult for me to accept.

Through the support and guidance I received, I started to understand how much unnecessary pressure I had been putting on myself. I had gradually become more pessimistic, more anxious, and more focused on worst-case scenarios, which was not who I had been for most of my life.

We looked deeply at my background, my upbringing, my values, and the beliefs I had carried with me throughout life. This helped me understand why I responded to situations the way I did and why I found it so difficult to let go of responsibility or ask for help.

I also trusted Greg with thoughts and feelings that I had never fully shared with anyone before. I always felt listened to, understood, and supported without judgement.

Alongside the sessions, I started making practical changes in my life. I became more organised with my time and routines, delegated more responsibilities, and stopped trying to do everything myself. I stepped away from work commitments that were no longer right for me and started focusing more on my health, my wellbeing, and enjoying life again.

One of the most important changes was reconnecting with people. I rebuilt communication with my children, reconnected with old friends and family members, joined social groups, and started getting out and enjoying life more again. Meals out, days away, gardening, walking, and simply being around people again all made a huge difference to my outlook and wellbeing.

I also realised that life did not have to become smaller as I got older. In many ways, I had stopped fully living and had become stuck in routines, worries, and responsibilities. Working with Greg helped me break out of that way of thinking and start enjoying life again instead of simply managing it.

What stood out most to me was Greg’s energy, perspective, and way of thinking. Working with someone younger gave me a completely different outlook on life, and I often found myself leaving the sessions feeling mentally lighter, more focused, and more optimistic.

Today, I feel calmer, clearer, and far more accepting of where I am in life. I have better relationships, more balance, and much less pressure in my day-to-day life. Most importantly, I feel more connected to myself and the people around me again.

Working with Greg made me feel mentally alive again, and I will always be grateful for the support and guidance he gave me during a very important stage of my life.
