A THOUGHT FROM ME
“What if the feeling that something is missing isn’t telling you that you’re failing? What if it’s pointing you towards something that matters?”
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
From the outside, life may look perfectly fine. You might have a career, relationships, responsibilities, achievements or many of the things you once thought would make you happy, yet there’s still a feeling that something isn’t quite clicking into place.
It can be difficult to explain because nothing appears obviously wrong. Yet underneath, there may be a sense of restlessness, emptiness or dissatisfaction that keeps appearing, no matter how much you achieve or how busy life becomes.
WHAT MAY REALLY BE HAPPENING
Many people assume this feeling means they should be more grateful, work harder or find something else to focus on. What I often see is something different. The feeling that something is missing is not always a problem to solve. Sometimes it’s valuable information.
You can build a life that looks good on paper whilst slowly losing connection with the parts of yourself that bring meaning, purpose, fulfilment and enjoyment. When that happens, life can start feeling as though you’re going through the motions, even when things appear successful from the outside.
A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
Perhaps the feeling isn’t trying to tell you that you’re doing life badly. Perhaps it’s trying to draw your attention towards something you’ve outgrown, neglected or moved away from.
Very often, the answer isn’t adding more. It’s reconnecting with what matters most and creating more space for the parts of life that genuinely make you feel alive.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
What is one part of yourself, your life or your future that you’ve been neglecting for longer than you’d like to admit?
