How Do I Know What’s Right for Me?

Building self-trust and confidence in your own choices.

A THOUGHT FROM ME

“One of the hardest decisions in life is choosing what feels right for you when other options look right to everybody else.”

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You may find yourself weighing up options, seeking advice, gathering information and thinking through every possible outcome, yet still feeling no closer to a decision.

The difficulty is not always a lack of options. Sometimes the difficulty is knowing which option genuinely feels right for you. The more opinions, advice and perspectives you gather, the harder it can become to hear your own.

WHAT MAY REALLY BE HAPPENING

Many people spend so long looking outside themselves for answers that they lose confidence in the answers already inside them.

Advice can be valuable. Guidance can be useful. The challenge comes when every decision starts being measured against what other people think rather than what feels aligned with your own values, priorities and direction. Gradually, your attention moves further away from your own wisdom and increasingly towards external answers.

This is where uncertainty, indecision and confusion often begin to grow. The issue is not necessarily a lack of clarity. It is often a lack of trust in yourself. When you become disconnected from your values, intuition and personal truth, even simple decisions can start feeling complicated because the compass you need most is no longer the one you’re using.

A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE

What if clarity isn’t something you find? What if it’s something that appears when you stop listening to every voice except your own?

Many people search for certainty before making a decision. Yet certainty is rarely available. What is often available is alignment. There is a difference between choosing the option that looks best and choosing the option that feels most true to who you are, what matters to you and the direction you want your life to move in.

Clarity often arrives when you stop asking, “What is the perfect decision?” and start asking, “Which decision feels most aligned with the life I want to create?”

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

If nobody else was going to judge, question or comment on your decision, what would you choose?
