A THOUGHT FROM ME
“One of the most frustrating feelings in life is knowing something needs to change whilst having no idea how to change it.”
DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?
You may feel as though you’re living the same week over and over again. The responsibilities are familiar, the routine is familiar and the problems are familiar, yet something inside keeps telling you that life was meant to feel different from this.
Part of the frustration is that you cannot always point to one obvious problem. On paper, parts of life may even look fine. Yet underneath, there is a growing sense of feeling stuck, restricted or unable to move towards the life you genuinely want.
WHAT MAY REALLY BE HAPPENING
Many people feel trapped not because they have no options, but because they can no longer see them.
When we live with the same circumstances, responsibilities, routines and pressures for long enough, our thinking can begin to narrow. Possibilities that once felt available gradually disappear from view. The mind starts focusing on obligations, limitations and reasons why change cannot happen rather than exploring what might be possible.
This is why feeling trapped is not always about your circumstances. It is often about your relationship with those circumstances. When freedom, choice, purpose and personal fulfilment feel distant, life can start feeling smaller than it really is. The challenge is that once the feeling of being trapped takes hold, it often becomes harder to recognise the options, opportunities and possibilities that still exist.
A DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVE
Feeling trapped and being trapped are not always the same thing.
There are situations in life where genuine limitations exist. There are also many situations where old assumptions, outdated beliefs and familiar patterns quietly convince us that our choices are smaller than they really are.
What if the cage you’re living in is made more from assumptions, fears and old decisions than from your actual circumstances?
Sometimes freedom begins the moment we question a rule we’ve been living by for years without realising it.
SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
What is one rule about your life that you’ve accepted as fact without questioning whether it is still true?
